Planning rules that apply in Evesham
In England a glazed or orangery-style extension follows the same size limits as any single-storey rear extension: 3 m or 4 m without an application, or up to 6 m and 8 m through prior approval. Building regulations limit glazing to about a quarter of the new floor area plus the openings it replaces, unless whole-house calculations show the design still performs.
Before any drawing is finalised we check whether the house is listed, in a conservation area or subject to an Article 4 direction.
Building regulations approval is separate from planning. In England you can use the council's building control team or a registered building control approver; a full plans application gets the drawings checked before work starts, and the inspector signs the work off with a completion certificate.
Applications are decided by the local planning authority (your district, borough or unitary council).

The West Midlands has a large stock of 1930s and post-war semi-detached houses, which are well suited to rear, side and over-garage extensions, plus Victorian terraces in the older inner areas.

Your questions about an orangery extension in Evesham
How long does an orangery extension take to build in Evesham?
On site, typically 10 to 16 weeks once approvals are in place. Before that, allow 6–12 weeks design and approvals.
Do you cover all of Evesham?
Yes. We cover Evesham and the surrounding parts of Worcestershire. Site visits are free and there is no obligation.
Can I see a price before committing to anything?
Yes. The guide prices on this page are adjusted for Evesham, and the guide-price tool gives a range for your own size. After the survey you get a written price before anything is agreed.
What is the difference between an orangery and a conservatory?
An orangery has a solid roof perimeter with a central lantern and more solid wall, so it is warmer and more like a room. A conservatory is mostly glass. Building regulations treat a heated orangery joined to the house as an extension.
Does an orangery need planning permission?
It follows the same size limits as other single-storey extensions. In England many fit within permitted development or prior approval; others need an application.
